This elegant red is a 100% Sangiovese wine from the renowned MonteRosola estate in the Volterra area of Tuscany,Central Italy. Grown at 430 metres above sea level, the grapes benefit from a complex soil of clay, sand, and limestone.

The wine presents a beautiful, rich ruby colour with a generous nose of ripe fruits, red cherry, strawberry, almonds, and green herbs. On the palate, there is a well-balanced combination of elegance and intensity with soft tannins and a generous aftertaste. The flavour profile has been noted for its glossy, dark-berried fruit with a hint of wild, briary character.

Recognised by Decanter with 90 points, the Mastio 2021 is a powerhouse of Tuscan flavour. It is an ideal accompaniment to hearty dishes such as roast red meat, lamb, or a classic Tuscan Beef Stew (Peposo).
